In April’s meeting, we welcomed several new members and tasted fifteen delicious homebrews. Thanks to everyone who showed up!
Business:
– Welcome all new members. We hope to see you at future meetings!
– Derek W. still has t-shirts for sale.
– Derek W. is accepting 2017 dues. Reach out to him at derek.wolfgram@gmail.com if you’d like to pay.
– Dark Matter was bottled last weekend and distributed to paid 2016 members in attendance.
– Reminder that we’ll have an Anchor Steam clone competition at the June meeting.
– Bob and Dave discussed their brewery-in-progress. We look forward to hearing more about this in the future!
– Marc-Andre gave an overview of his homebrew setup.

In March’s meeting had a full agenda. We wished Vern a happy birthday, welcomed two new members, tasted fifteen delicious homebrews, learned a bit about water, got our hands on some hop hash, and sampled some diacetyl (on purpose). Thanks to everyone who showed up!

– We welcomed Katie and Patrick to their first meeting!
– Dark Matter bottling day date and time are still to be determined. Stay tuned.
– Reminder that we’ll have an Anchor Steam clone competition at the June meeting.
– We decided to keep the Thirsty Third Thursday meeting at Harry’s in San Jose in case people still want to meet up.
– We’re looking for volunteers to help organize and judge the Santa Clara County Fair Homebrew competition this Summer.

– Last meeting, we decided that we would bottle the Dark Matter this Sunday, March 11th. Unfortunately, we won’t be able to host the bottling this day, but please stay tuned for the new date and location.

February 2017 meeting notes
In February’s meeting, we tasted six delicious homebrews and voted on Anchor Steam as being the clone competition beer. Thanks to everyone who showed up!
Business:
– Derek W. collected 2017 club dues. If you didn’t get a chance to pay, you can always pay next meeting.
– Sudzers Homebrewer of the Year Trophy was presented to Jared Churko!
– Jenn was kind enough to volunteer to help organize a Sudzer bar crawl. We’ll most likely do it in the Berkeley area (Fieldwork, Torpedo Room, and Rare Barrel).
– Dark Matter bottling day will be hosted at Marc and Jenn’s house on March 11. More info will be provided in the next few weeks.
– We voted to have Anchor Steam be the clone competition beer in the June meeting.
– We’re looking for volunteers to help organize and judge the Santa Clara County Fair Homebrew competition this Summer.

Becoming a paid member gets you a discount at MoreBeer in Los Altos, as well as access to the special members-only events we do through the year.
Also as a reminder: Freewheel Battle of the Brew Clubs is February 12. Style is Old Ale, and Maris Otter must be used as the base malt. At this point, it doesn’t look we have any Sudzers that have volunteered to compete, so if you’d like to represent us, then please do so! January 2017 meeting notes
In January’s meeting, we tasted nine delicious homebrews, met one new member, and welcomed back a member from a decade ago! Thanks to everyone who showed up!
Business:
– Welcome Jenny, and welcome back, Jeff to the Sudzers!
– Derek W. collected 2017 club dues. If you didn’t get a chance to pay, you can always pay next meeting.
– Derek W. gave the 2016 financial report. For those interested in checking it out, the spreadsheet will eventually be uploaded to the website.
– Christmas party recap. Thanks, Marc and Jenn for hosting!
– The 2017 officers were announced:
— President: Steve Hutzler
— VP: Marc-Andre Harvey
— CFO: Derek Wolfgram
— CCO: Adam Campbell
— Chief Tasting Officers (CTO): Jim Williams and Charles Stevens. The CTO’s responsibility will be finding ways for us to enhance our palate, e.g., by organizing off-flavor tasting sessions. More info to come.
– Sudzers Homebrew of the Year was announced… Congratulations, Jared Churko!
– Steve H. will be sending out a survey to get opinions on what events we want to do next year.
